Oversized rebuilt turbocharger

 

White Series:

Designed for those cases in which the control unit has already been remapped but the original turbo becomes unreliable, by installing a larger impeller, the operating revolutions are reduced and therefore the risk of overspeed, one of the main causes of breakage of a turbocharger when performing elaborations only at the level of the control unit without adjusting the turbo.

Suction impeller size: 49 mm aluminum, with 6 + 6 blades

Exhaust impeller dimensions: 9 blades 43 mm

Rotor shaft: 7.88mm

Bearings: oil (bushings) with 360 ° shim as original

Geometry: variable with 11 blades, 6.50 mm

Suction nut: enlarged to accommodate impeller with larger inducer, polished and optimized the air outlet from the nut, improving flow and avoiding rising temperatures

Structural pressures: 1.80 bar maximum peak and 1.6 bar with limiter

Yellow Series:

The most requested of the three versions thanks to its versatility to any driving style, good reactivity already at low levels, without departing so much from the turbo of the original turbo, offering always increasing power at all engine speeds. The increases made and the design of the impellers allow an excellent result between reliability, resistance and performance

Exhaust impeller dimensions: 9 blades 43mm

Red Series:

The most performing of the three, in effect a larger turbo designed and studied to express the maximum starting from the original turbo, the increase carried out by the compressor to the turbine creates a flow without back pressure and without temperature increases on both the exhaust and intake side of the engine this allows to reach unthinkable powers for an original turbo, moreover with great study on test benches and cars we were able to create a design of the impellers that would give us all the power we had set for ourselves but without having a too slow response (turbolag) but a good reactivity already from 1900 rpm onwards.

Exhaust impeller dimensions: 9 blades 44.20 mm

Rotor shaft: 7.88mm

Bearings: oil (bushings) with 360 ° shim as original

Geometry: variable with 11 blades, 7.60mm

Suction nut: enlarged to accommodate impeller with larger inducer, polished and optimized the air outlet from the nut, improving flow and avoiding rising temperatures

Exhaust nut: enlarged to accommodate a larger impeller and geometry, polished and optimized the exhaust gas outlet such as to reduce internal counter pressures and favor the flow so as to dissipate temperatures with an evident increase in power and reliability

Structural pressures: 2.5 bar maximum peak and 2.0 bar with limiter

Test: balancing up to 165,000 rpm and dynamic flushing on the bench

CV test: 250

RPM needed for 1.0 bar: about 1700

Lag value: 1900 rpm

Black Series:

A special Series, specially designed for this 1.9L engine, on the basis of a GT2256, prepares a high performance turbo with 11-blade Perfomace avional impeller. Unlike the other series, this one needs some modifications on the pipes for assembly, the turbo is already supplied with a modified connection for the 1.9 manifold and with a flange to be welded on the DownPipe

Suction impeller size: in avional 59.36 mm, with 6 + 6 blades

Exhaust impeller dimensions: 9 blades 50 mm

Rotor shaft: 7.88mm

Bearings: oil (bushings) with 360 ° shim as original

Geometry: variable with 12 blades, 7.60mm

Suction nut: enlarged to accommodate impeller with larger inducer, polished and optimized the air outlet from the scroll by improving the flow and avoiding the increase in temperatures

Exhaust nut: enlarged to accommodate a larger impeller and geometry, polished and optimized the exhaust gas outlet such as to reduce internal counter pressures and favor the flow so as to dissipate temperatures with an evident increase in power and reliability

Structural pressures: 3.0 bar maximum peak and 2.8 bar with limiter

Test: balancing up to 165,000 rpm and dynamic flushing on the bench

CV test: 300

RPM needed for 1.0 bar: about 2000

Lag value: 2200 rpm

Minimum contour processing: ECU programming, free exhaust, increase exhaust line diameter, sports air filter, increased injectors and pump, intercooler and DPF OFF

What is Avional?

The A2000, (trade name Avional), is a high-strength aluminum, or aerospace material with a light specific weight, you have absolute certainty of the mechanical properties of this material. The main alloying element is Copper, in some alloys there are additions of magnesium and manganese. These alloys undergo mechanical processes that eliminate those oxidation defects (mostly silicone) and guarantee the granular structure of the alloy, improving the properties of the material under stress, in fact, after heat treatment they develop mechanical characteristics comparable to those of carbon steels and improvements are also to be recorded in terms of duration. In other words, they are to be considered more resistant than traditional impellers.

Technical features

The MFS impellers are made on high-speed 5-axis CNC machining centers, speeds necessary to reach the high profile given by aerodynamic blades that guarantee high level mechanical performance. This also means that the geometry of the wheel is not subject to the tolerances of the mold and to the variability over time of the casting processes. Basically we are talking about zero compromises during the complex processing of the blades. In this process, the best and most modern technologies in terms of metrology and measurement are applied, in order to inspect the geometric thickness and tolerances required according to the requirements of the engineering specifications of a modern turbocharger.
